Understanding and using Credits

This article explains how to use 'Credits' on Workdone, which are required to submit task offers. The number of Credits needed for an offer varies by task and is displayed on the task post. Credits are returned to you in two cases: (1) if a task is canceled by the client before a is created, and (2) if a task post is removed because it violates our Terms of Service. Unused Credits do not roll over each month and renew every billing cycle. Workers can subscribe to Workdone Pro which gives them access to more Credits or purchase extra Credits at anytime.

Get Credits

There are three ways to get Credits on Workdone.

Monthly and weekly Credits

Each month, Pros receive Credits at no extra cost to help reach out to more clients.

Workdone Basic active accounts may receive 30 free Credits each month. Depending on what offers were available when you signed up for Workdone, you may only get extra Credits after purchasing Credits or a Workdone Pro membership. Learn more here.

These Credits are given out each month on the first day of your billing cycle, which you can see here. For example, if your current billing cycle is listed as Oct. 11, 2024 - Nov. 10, 2024, you will receive your Credits on the 11th of each month.

Buy Credits

Credits cost $1.00 (USD) each and are sold in bundles or a custom amount of your choice. To purchase additional Credits:

  • Go to your account.
  • Select Membership & Credits.
  • Click “Buy Credits” and select the bundle that suits you.

Once you’ve selected the bundle you wish to purchase, click “buy credits”, and we will automatically charge your account.

Earn Credits

To help Pros succeed on Workdone, we occasionally reward free Creits. While we can’t share all the details of when Credits are given out (we don’t want dishonest people to “game” the system), here’s what we can share:

When you join Workdone, you may be asked to refer your fellow workers and friends. Once you refer, we’ll give you a up to 30 Credits to help get you started on Workdone.

Manage Credits

Credits are a valuable resource. Before using your Credits to submit an offer, we recommend that you:

  • Carefully review the task post to make sure it matches your skills and availability
  • Make sure you have enough time to submit a quality offer
  • Check to see if the client has hired anyone yet and how many pros have offered on the task
  • Consider the number of Pros who have already submitted offers and whether the client have viewed other offers yet. While you can still submit to a task that already has many offers, it may be more difficult to get the client’s attention

Returned Credits

Sometimes, a task gets canceled or removed from Workdone without a hire. In the following cases, these Credits will be returned:

  • If we remove a tasks’s post because we believe it violates our Terms of Service, Credits you used on that offer will be returned
  • If a client cancels a task without hiring anyone. This does not apply to expired task posts

If you submitted an offer and the task is no longer available because of a violation or you used Credits on a task offer that turns out to be fraud, we'll return them. In these cases, Credits are credited back to your account for reuse — not for a refund of their cash value.

When Credits are not returned

In the following cases, Credits are not returned:

  • The client rejects your offer
  • The client chooses another Pro
  • The task expires without a hire
  • You withdraw your offer from a task
